Quotes

"It is never too late to be what you might have been."

This was one of Abigail Eliot’s favorite quotes. I can relate to this quote because I am a non-traditional student and this quote hits home with me. I know it’s never too late to be what you wished you had been or be the best you can at any point in your life.

Sandy Escobido also had an opportunity to work as an early childhood advocate. She stated
"We in the early childhood profession have an opportunity to shape a child’s life for the better".
”(Escobido 2010).

These two ladies were from different time periods, but ultimately had the same passion. That was to provide early childhood educational opportunities for everyone.

Relationships Influnce Our Lives

Life is developed though influences, the influential family of my life has taught me nurturing, love, respect, and family values.

My parents have been married for 56 years. They raised me in a loving family and taught me how to love.  I feel they have influenced my love and determination for my students.

My Aunt Sharon has always held a special place in my heart. From birth till present she has  supported, nurtured, and encouraged me.

                    Chance made us sisters
                             Hearts made us friends.

              My sister is my rock.

My first child Kandis also know as “G” inspired me to further my education and to follow my dreams.
Thank you G.

My baby girl is in college and at home with mommy. She is my daily  life line. When I’m down she always knows just what to say . She listens to my silly little songs.
Thanks Kel

My two girls  have been my inspiration. They are always there for me encouraging  to  me to dream beyond my own expectations. Without them I would not be the educator that I am today.

Favorite Book and Inspirational Quote

Book Cover

One of my fondest hobbies is reading and collecting children’s books.  My favorite story is Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.  Each year I share this story with my students and we discuss how occasionally we all have a bad day.  We laugh at Alexander’s eventful day and we also sympathize with him. I promote positive and do not dwell on negative. I encourage them to learn from uneventful mishaps and focus on the good things that occur in our lives. Often children’s literature teaches life lessons.

Inspirational  Quote:
Eleanor Roosevelt once stated, “It is today we must create the world of the future."  This quote inspires my philosophy of education. I believe that our children are our future. It’s up to each generation to help mold and influence our children of today to be educated adult citizens of tomorrow.

Wow! Overwhelmed already?

Hi friends,

Well I feel my challenges have begun. I made this blog assignment way harder than it was suppose to be. However, I'm very excited about this new chapter in my life. I began this journey as a non-traditional student and having life experiences has truly been beneficial to myself and my students. I'm looking forward to learning new strategies, information, and techniques to help me to become a stronger educator. I know that we will all learn and encourage each other through out this course. I'm ready to get started. Are you?
